Airbags

Reassuring. Should they ever need it, passengers in the New Polo Sedan can rely on a proven airbag system. It comprises airbags for the driver and front passenger, including a front passenger airbag deactivation function, and two side airbags. Airbag deployment is triggered by crash sensors: when an impact is detected, the control unit triggers the gas generator, which inflates the airbags within 30 to 40 milliseconds. They significantly reduce the risk of injury, especially to the neck.

Seat belts

The New Polo Sedan is one of the safest cars in the world. To afford optimum protection, the New Polo Sedan has three-point automatic seat belts for all passengers. The front seat belts are also equipped with height adjustment and belt tensioners. The only thing they cannot do is fasten themselves.

Safety systems

The New Polo Sedan punches way above its weight thanks to safety features like its improved impact resistance, crumple zones, rear fog light, high level rear brake light and ISOFIX child seat mountings. ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) is standard on the 1.6 TDI Comfortline model and optional on the other 1.6 models, includes ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) as standard.
